Coraline Film Critique
Coraline is an animated movie about a little girl who moves to a new state to an old house. She is unsatisfied with her parents and her life, so she grows unhappy. Whilst exploring the old house, she discovers a small door that leads to a magic world where she has other parents who are better than her original parents. She soon realizes that this magical world is not what it seems, and that her other mother is an evil witch who steals children's eyes so she can live forever. The witch stole Coraline's parents from the real world and Coraline must team up with a cat and the ghosts of the witch's previous victims to rescue her parents and escape the terrible world. The story teaches children to be happy with what you have because things can be worse in your life. The movie was animated well for its time, and the voice acting was great. The music created atmospheres of wonder and horror. The movie had a great plot, and there were no loose ends or unanswered questions at the end. It was a great film.
